Austin Toros (NBA D-League Team) Tryout
Austin, Texas
As a former collegiate basketball player who also played in Mexico after graduation, Scott recently had a tryout with the Austin Toros (NBA D-League Team for the Celtics and Spurs). He had an opportunity to spend some quality time with Coach Dennis Johnson (former NBA great for the Celtics) as well. In addition to making an effort to play professional basketball, Scott wanted to created a partnership to get more professional athletes to become positive role models for our youth.
To the dismay of many, Coach Johnson passed away (sudden death) only a few months after the tryout, but Scott remembers the many positive messages that Johnson shared - some of which are discussed in his programs.
Scott believes that Dennis was one of the kindest and smartest NBA players of all time. He was also one of the great players of his day. NBA great, Magic Johnson, was quoted as saying, “Dennis was the toughest defender I ever played against.” Hopefully, Dennis’s positive attitude and amazing spirit will live on in everyone he knew.

Training with Houston Astros
Houston, Texas
Scott was given the opportunity to play with select players from the Houston Astro’s professional baseball team and the coaching staff, at the Astros field, Minute Maid Park. Teams were chosen, the scoreboards were lit, the announcer was in place, and a group of students taking stadium tour were watching from the stands. The only thing missing was the million dollar salaries. As it turned out, Scott scored the only run for his team when his teammate knocked in atriple with two outs to bring him home from second base.
Scott also had the opportunity to chat with a few of the students after the game and share some insight with them.
