Who is Scott Goyette?

Background
Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Scott was raised in a single parent household for much of his childhood, forcing him to become a more self-reliant person. He was always a born leader – but by a different definition than he found in any dictionary. Scott chose to lead by walking two steps behind, celebrating the success of the person ahead. This style of leadership has helped Scott succeed as a student, athlete, a family member, and a friend.

Fortunately, Scott’s Mom later remarried and Scott was blessed to be a part of a wonderful family – Paul (father), Jessica (sister), Paul Michael (brother) and his mother, Susan. Additionally, he has supportive grandparents who have always been there for him.

Today
Scott Goyette lives in Austin, Texas, with his wife Kim and beautiful daughter, Kayla. As an inspirational speaker, an accomplished author and an informed educator, he is committed to the emotional and intellectual development of every individual he addresses. Scott has had many unique life-experiences that enable him to provide unique and inspirational messages to his audiences. He has gone from being most likely to be in detention in elementary school to being a positive role model and an inspiration to children and adults everywhere. In every keynote or general session he delivers, Scott reminds his listeners that they are in control of their own destinies.

Scott is convinced that everyone can be brilliant – as long as he or she is given the tools and support!

Serving as the Chairperson for the National Speakers Association's Professional Educators Group, Scott maintains a personal commitment to life long learning. He continually seeks new knowledge through travel, reading, one–on-one discussions with friends and family and many times by interacting with his audience members. Scott always emphasizes the importance of knowing who you are as an individual, as he encourages attendees in all of his audiences to become more self-aware. He accomplishes this by sharing personal stories with meaningful messages that have afforded him a keen sense of realization.

Education
Committed to life long learning, Scott received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from Bentley College, located in Waltham, Massachusetts. He also earned an MBA from Texas State University, and he studied International Relations at the Universidad de las Americas in Puebla, Mexico. Aside from institutional education, Scott learns from participating in all that life has to offer.

Experience
Scott has started numerous business, to include two cellular stores, a technology consulting company, and even a kiosk-based city guide for hotels. Always lured in the direction of education, Scott gave away his attachments to the business world in exchange for an opportunity to work as an educator, a speaker and an author. Prior to founding NRG Communication Solutions (speaker referral company and booking agency for Scott’s services), he was also employed as the Vice President of an online learning company.

Life Changing Moments
In the summer of 1994 Scott was at the peak of his collegiate athletic career when tragedy struck. As a nineteen year old starter for his college basketball team, he was in the heat of training.
